Autumns Arrival
Your Best Teacher Is You

Hello and welcome to the 8th installment of the Dream Workers newsletter.
Summer has officially come to a close(sadly) and as we transition into cooler weather, I’d like to remind you that as the seasons are always subject to change; we too must be welcoming to change as well. I wish you all a splendid start to your autumn adventure, let’s keep elevating!
Until next time, Nathaniel
- Earlier this month I was initiated as an official Apprentice of Iron Workers International out of Local 28 (Richmond).
- I've been working as a pre-apprentice Iron Worker for just over a month now with HAMPTON ROADS CRANE AND RIGGING CO I've been learning valuable lessons from my Journeymen superiors right from the get-go.
- Here are a couple key points that I'd like to highlight with you to keep in mind as you continue to progress in whatever your respective field is or, just life in general.
1. Practice Humility:
- As someone who is just getting started and learning to swim you must understand that you do NOT know every trick of the trade. You will struggle to stay afloat but, practicing humility serves as a life vest when the tide grows strong. Keep your head down, stay humble, and keep working.
- You are going to take some licks earning bumps and bruises, mistakes will happen, and you'll make the wrong choice from time to time. All of these situations are okay as long as you practice humility and show that you about whatever your craft may be.
2. Ask questions and show initiative:
- No teacher, coach or leader has ever had a negative experience in dealing with a pupil who is EAGER and WILLING to learn. Mistakes will happen, that's to be expected when you are just getting started. Showing initiative lets your contemporaries know that you actually CARE about becoming better.
- In the long run, know that your efforts will pay off and you will come out the other side stronger than you were when you started. Time is on the side of those who utilize their time wisely and effectively.
May we all continue to find the best versions of ourselves, within ourselves.
Take care, and until next time - Keep Dreaming.
